Resource Recycling, L.L.C. About Resource Recycling . . .
Resource Recycling, L.L.C. is a privately held company that custom designs, builds, installs, and operates Ash Processing and Metal Recovery Systems specifically for the Waste-to-Energy industry. Our company is uniquely qualified to produce value-added metal products from the W-T-E ash stream and market these products to consumers. Resource Recycling can provide any degree of service from metal marketing only to design and turn-key installation to full operation of its systems. Our systems and business plans meet the unique operational and contractual requirements of each project developed. Resource Recycling currently has five systems operating throughout the United States. In addition to our Pinellas County, Florida system which has operated since 1990, we have built ferrous recovery systems for American Ref-fuels Hempstead, Long Island Facility (2,500 tpd Mass Burn) and the City of Key Wests Facility (150 tpd Mass Burn). Another Resource Recycling system was designed for American Ref-Fuels Niagara Falls Facility (2,000 tpd Mass Burn). The Niagara system recovers all ferrous and non-ferrous metals through its custom-designed in-line and batch processing capabilities. Our newest facility, at Palm Beach Resource Recovery (2,000 tpd RDF), began operation in August 1997. This system, an in-line non-ferrous recovery system, recovered over 1,000,000 lbs. of non-ferrous metals in its first four months of operation. Our newly redesigned Pinellas County, Florida facility services the Countys 3,000 ton per day Waste-to-Energy facility. Resource Recycling completed construction of its new Pinellas System in March 1997. The previous system operated from January 1990 until its relocation in early 1997 to accommodate the waste-to-energy facilitys APC retrofit plans. The move allowed us to add state-of-the-art technology to our process. Housed in a 70,000 square foot building, Resource Recycling now owns the largest indoor ash-processing and metal recovery facility in the world. Resource Recycling designed, owns and operates the Pinellas system. Its unique in-line and batch processing capabilities allow us to process the Pinellas ash stream and other sources of W-T-E metal while producing consistently marketable value-added ferrous and non-ferrous metal products. The recovery efficiency for ferrous metals is in excess of 98 percent (98%) and in excess of 92 percent (92%) for non-ferrous metals. The ferrous metals are shredded, cleaned and densified to approximately 65 lbs. per cubic foot. The non-ferrous metals are cleaned and separated into various grades including white metals, red metals, precious metals, coins, and stainless steel. In addition, the system processes white goods and other bulky items which are bypassed from the tipping floor. All recovered metals comply with industry standards and are sold directly to consumers by Resource Recycling. The remaining ash is processed into an ash/aggregate that is sized to minus 3/8-inch and void of metallics. The aggregate is used for various applications in the landfill such as cover and road base. To date the Pinellas system has efficiently and effectively processed 100% of the facilitys ash residue stream - amounting to over 1,500,000 tons of ash! The ferrous and non-ferrous metals have been consistently marketed at favorable prices both domestically and internationally by Resource Recycling. Resource Recycling maintains relationships with many individuals, institutions and companies involved in ash utilization and stabilization. Resource Recycling is an active participant in Florida Institute of Technologys on-going study for the Florida Center for Solid and Hazardous Waste Management (FCSHWM) to develop criteria for stabilization and utilization of combustion residue. The studies have concentrated on utilization of ash as a construction material and for landfill use applications such as daily and intermediate cover, cores of screening berms, and road base. Several studies have determined that Resource Recyclings processed ash, due to its clean and consistent nature, has superior performance characteristics over unprocessed ash and has been recommended for many potential commercial uses. Resource Recycling is affiliated with the Southern Holdings group of recycling, manufac-turing, service, and production companies. Headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, Southern Holdings is one of the largest scrap processing and recycling companies in the United States. In business since 1900, the company has accumulated an unprecedented amount of experience in material handling, processing, and marketing. The Southern group currently owns and operates numerous other recycling facilities throughout the United States and maintains offices and agents in key cities around the world. This provides Resource Recycling consistent access to markets and the best available prices for its metal products. HOME ABOUT RRLLC Metal Recovery Systems CONTACT US |
